Eating a Balanced diet

Eating a balanced diet is important for your health. If you don't eat healthily you will most likely get bigger and find it more difficult to exercise. Proteins are equally important because they contain iron which supports our blood and keeps our heart beating. Fish is a good source of protein and contains many vitamins and minerals: aim to eat at least two potions of proteins a week to prevent heart disease. Carbohydrates provide our body with energy and fibre. Without carbohydrates we wouldn't be able to exercise and we would be feeling lethargic. We also need to consume dairy products daily as these provide our body with  calcium; keeps our teeth and bones strong. Finally we need to remember to eat small amounts of fats, oils and spreads. To many of this food group will cause obesity and heart disease.

Exercise is when you undertake a range of sports and get your heart rate higher for example: swimming, football or dance. Exercise is one of the most important ways to keep healthy. When you exercise blood is pumped around your body providing your muscles with oxygen. Exercise helps you sleep better: it causes the body to produce chemicals that helps a person to feel good.

Personal Hygiene

Looking after our personal hygiene means we have to keep ourselves clean. We need to wash our bodies, hair and teeth to prevent the spread of germs. Washing and bathing are the most important ways of maintaining good health and protecting ourselves from infections, illnesses and ailments. maintaining cleanliness is also important for our social and emotional well-being.

Rest and Sleep

Sleep and rest are really important because sleep releases chemicals into your body. These chemicals make you feel good; oxygen moves through your blood stream and CO2 makes your muscles soft. When you sleep you grow and your body repairs for the next day. We need to sleep to have energy to do more things. Children, babies and teens need more sleep than adults to support their rapid minds and physical development. It also prevents them from getting hyper. Toddlers need around 12 hours of sleep; young children between 3-6 years need 10-12 hours of sleep; children aged 7-12 need 10-11 hours of sleep and teenagers need 8-9 hours of sleep.

Importance of Water

Water is important because you need to stay hydrated. If you are not hydrated it will lead to problems with your digestive system and you will become constipated. Water contains minerals and also helps the brain function. Drinking water prevents dehydration. Drinking plenty of water helps you get a high metabolism, which helps you burn extra water pounds. Water clears all the waste out of our bodies to make us healthier.

To sum this article up, all of the above things are very important therefore you need equal amounts of each. Scientist prove that all these things will have a positive affect on your life. Being healthy is not just about eating a balanced diet it is also about exercise, drinking water, looking after your skin, personal hygiene and rest and sleep. If you only do one of those things then your body will not be as healthy as you think it will be.
