Language, Literacy and Communication

Spring term

 

Pupils will be learning about and practising the genre 'Discussion'. They will have the opportunity to learn abut features of this and then be involved in class discussions regarding 'Sustainability'.

Multilingualism in Y3/4!

Mr Davies' class have been busy celebrating the variety of cultures and languages spoken in class. We watched a video clip of the World Cup and used our senses to note down words to translate for our multilingual football dictionary! We translated English to Kurdish Sorani, Urdi, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish and Arabic! See below for some images.

This term our topic is based around the tale of Little Red Riding Hood.

Pupils will engage with the story by learning the structure of a fairytale, and then they will use this structure to recreate their own stories. They will then use roleplay and song to bring these to life in an expressive way. We will use authentic settings such as the local woods and park to bring our stories to life and will use technology to video pupils' performances/ stories.

 

Please support your child by helping them to complete 'Reading Eggs' assignments which will be set for them on a weekly basis.

 

Please help your child by reading fairytales to and with them. Talk about the setting, plot and character to develop their understanding. See below for some stories you can share with your child.
